Marde Hen explores the mines

Yesterday, Saturday 23rd July, a few members of Marde Hen managed to get together to explore, research and understand more about the mining industry in preparation for the forthcoming show – SHAFTED in September 8th – 10th.

We learnt quite a bit from the Wakefield Coal Mining Museum; from the first mine opening 200 years ago – right up until recently when the last coal mine was closed – we also got to be involved with the 1984/85 mining strike! Here are a few images from our time there.
